    Congo crash bodies formally identified
    6 July 2010.
    The bodies of six Australians and one permanent resident killed in a plane crash in West Africa have been formally identified, officials say.
    The formal identification of the Australians on the plane had been completed with the assistance of an Australian Federal Police disaster victim identification team.
    A Congolese Identification Board had convened on July 3 and endorsed the findings.

    18 killed in bus crash

    Twelve die in military plane crash in Romania
    6 July 2010.
    Twelve people have been killed and two severely injured after a military plane crashed shortly after takeoff when it caught on fire in Tuzla, southern Romania, last night (Mon).

    Scaffolding Collapse Kills 7, Injures 23 in Brazil
    6 July 2010.
    At least seven people were killed and 23 others injured in a construction accident at a cement plant in Itaiatuba.  Construction workers on the scaffolding and cement company employees working below them were among the victims.  The workers on the scaffolding fell about 30 metres crushing those below them.

    Five children, adult drown in southern Russian summer camp
    7 July 2010.
    Five children and an adult drowned at a summer camp in southern Russia on Wednesday.
    The victims were part of a group of 63 children and seven adults from Moscow who were staying at the Azov summer camp. The six bodies were found by rescuers, while one child was found alive and taken to an intensive care unit and another child is still unaccounted for.

    Storm Leaves 7 Dead in Chile
    7 July 2010.
    A storm front affecting a broad area of central Chile on Wednesday took the lives of seven people, authorities said.  In Santiago during the early morning, two people died in incidents related to the low temperatures. The first victim, an indigent and still unidentified man, died when the brazier he was using to warm himself set fire to the spot where he was sleeping.

    Greek police find more immigrant bodies, toll rises to 18
    7 July 2010.
    Greek police found two more bodies in a river on the border with Turkey on Tuesday, raising the number of illegal migrants who drowned there last month to 18.
    The two bodies found in the Evros River were Africans, a police official said.
    Since June 25 the bodies of six men and five women have been retrieved on the Greek side of the river. Five more bodies were also found on the Turkish side of the river, according to Greek authorities.

    Srebrenica survivors' long wait to bury their dead
    7 July 2010.
    Hundreds of bodies of men who fled the enclave before it was overrun by Bosnian Serb troops on July 11, 1995, have been found in the woods surrounding Srebrenica and dozens are thought to be still there, said Amor Masovic, of the Bosnian institute charged with searching for the war missing. The remains of thousands of other victims have been found in more than 70 mass graves in the area.
    To date the remains of nearly 6,500 victims of the massacre have been identified through DNA testing at the laboratory of the International Commission on Missing Persons (ICMP) in Bosnia, based in Sarajevo.

    Dozens Killed, Hurt in North Korea Bus Crash
    8 July 2010.
    Two commuter buses carrying North Korean workers crashed into each other at 7:40 p.m. on July 2 in the joint Korean Kaesong Industrial Complex, the Unification Ministry said on Wednesday.  Paju Police Station in South Korea estimated that 10 North Korean workers were killed in the car accident, and about 40 others injured

    Seven Slain on Colombian Highway
    8 July 2010. Colombia.
    Seven members of the same family were killed when gunmen attacked vehicles on a road in the northwestern Colombian province of Antioquia, authorities said Thursday.
    An official attributed the massacre to an ongoing battle among drug gangs in the region.
    Eight people were killed in the wee hours of last Friday when gunmen fired indiscriminately at patrons in a discotheque in the suburbs of Medellin.

    12 Die in Prison Fire in Uruguay

    At least 12 people died and seven others were seriously injured in a fire early Thursday at a prison in Rocha.  Relatives are trying to identify the 12 dead inmates.

    Death Toll Rises to 8 in Mexico Plane Crash

    The death toll from the crash of a small plane surveying damage in northern Mexico from Tropical Storm Alex has risen to eight.  Initial reports said five people died.

    15 killed as bus falls into Alaknanda
    9 July 2010. India.
    At least 15 people, including three children, were drowned and 10 others injured when a bus in which they were travelling fell into the swollen Alaknanda at Karnprayag in Uttarakhand's Chamoli district on Friday.

    Workers drown at tomato sauce factory
    9 July 2010. India.
    Six workers drowned after falling into a giant vat of sauce, at a tomato sauce factory in Talkatora area of Lucknow, in Uttar Pradesh, on Wednesday.
    The incident took place when Usha, a female worker of Akansha food products, slipped from her ladder and plunged into the raw material used to make the tomato sauce. Five co-workers jumped one after the other to save her, but all drowned.

    Death Toll from Alex Raised to 20
    10 July 2010. Mexico.
    The number of deaths caused by Hurricane Alex as it swept through northern Mexico has risen to 20 after the discovery of seven more bodies in the states of Coahuila and Tamaulipas, official sources said.
    Four bodies were found late Thursday night on the banks of the Rio Grande near Ciudad Acuña, where one person is still missing.

    South China flood death toll reaches 50

    Bodies of North West miners killed in rockfall recovered
    10 July 2010. South Africa.
    THE bodies of all five mineworkers killed in a mine accident near Rustenburg have been retrieved.  On Tuesday night seven mine workers were trapped at Marikana Aquarius Platinum mine by a rockfall.

    Remains of 7 WWII MIAs
    10 July 2010. USA.
    Forensic scientists at Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam have identified the remains of seven servicemen missing in action from World War II.
    On May 23, 1944, the men were aboard a C-47A Skytrain that left Dinjan, India, on an airdrop mission to resupply Allied forces in Burma. When the crew failed to return, air and ground searches found no evidence of the aircraft along the intended flight path.
    In late 2002 a missionary provided U.S. officials information about a crash site about 31 miles northwest of Myitkyina, Burma, now called Myanmar. In 2003 a Burmese citizen turned over human remains and identification tags for three of the crew members.
    A team from the Joint POW/MIA Accounting Command at Pearl Harbor-Hickam excavated the crash site in 2003 and 2004, recovering additional remains and crew-related equipment

    Violence in Northern Mexico Leaves at Least 16 Dead
    10 July 2010.
    At least 16 people, including four minors, have been killed over the past two days in violent incidents in the northern Mexican states of Chihuahua, Durango and Coahuila, officials said.
    authorities in Chihuahua state reported the deaths of six men and a woman in different incidents Friday in Ciudad Juarez, Mexico’s murder capital, apparently in attacks involving organized crime.
    The seven victims have not been identified.

    Four Killed in Colliery Blast in Southwest China

    Four miners were killed in a gas explosion after heavy rain cut off electricity and stopped ventilation equipment at a coal mine in southwest China's Guizhou Province, local work safety watchdog said Saturday.

    Refugees die in boat accident off Spanish coast
    11 July 2010.
    Five African refugees including two babies died in a boat accident about 80 km south of Motril on the southern Spanish coast, officials said Saturday evening.
    The boat carrying 40 passengers and was thought to have come from Morocco.

    Mohmand death toll rises to 104
    11 July 2010. Pakistan.
    With the retrieval of scores of more dead bodies from the rubbles on Saturday, the death toll in the deadly suicide blasts that rocked Mohmand agency on Friday morning has risen to 104.
    At least 68 people including men in uniform, kids and women were reported killed and over hundred others wounded seriously when a couple of suicide explosions out side the office of Political Agent Mohmand agency Friday 10.am ripped through crowded Yakka Ghund Market.
    The political authorities Saturday said the rescue workers retrieved as many as 36 more dead bodies from the rubles on Saturday morning.
