New Student Council members

    Gail Elliott:
Currently I am studying for a BSc in Forensic Anthropology in the Centre for Anatomy & Human Identification, University of Dundee. I am particularly interested in histology in a comparative osteological context, and intend to develop this interest at Masters and Doctoral level.  Joining Council has given me the opportunity to meet practitioners with different research interests, and is also an excellent opportunity to learn about novel research currently taking place in the field of human identification, both nationally and internationally.  In return, I greatly appreciate the opportunity to take an active role in the future direction of BAHID, through representation of the student membership.

    Rachel Berry:
My name is Rachel Berry and I have been elected as a student representative on the BAHID Council. I hold a BSc (Hons) in forensic anthropology, and have recently completed an MSc in human identification at the Centre for Anatomy and Human Identification, University of Dundee. Since completing my MSc, I have been demonstrating anatomy to dental, medical, and science students, and comparative osteology to forensic anthropology undergraduates. I hope to begin my PhD in the near future, which will focus on the techniques used to study stable isotopes in drugs and human provenancing. My main aims as student representative for BAHID are to provide students with information about relevant courses and training within the field of human identification, possible work experience and job opportunities, and about funding bodies, specialist forensic science competitions, and research grants.
